Parco San Grato:
The park of San Grato is a botanical garden of six hectares, located above the village of Carona. From the village you can enjoy the stunning view of the lake of Lugano and the peaks of the mountains. Also, you can find a high variety of rhododendrons, azaleas and conifers. The park is a great place for children because it also has a playground and is inviting for walks.
The sanctuary of our Lady of Ongero:
The sanctuary of the Madonna of Ongero was built in the eighteenth century and is situated in the heart of the park San Grato among trees of beech and chestnut. The chapel had been a famous place for pilgrims who would leave gifts for the saint.
The church of St. George:
The church of St. George was built in the sixteenth century with an adjacent tower in baroque style. This tower, however, was only added in the eighteenth century and is notable for its elegant porch with five arches, paintings and coats of arms of the twelve original Swiss cantons.
