Celebrating the Befana

On Epiphany day, the Befana (a kindly old woman who brings gifts) is celebrated in the various town squares. During the event a bag of gifts is given to the children.

May 4, Festival of San Gottardo: The village of Cureggia organizes the festival of San Gottardo in the town square. The event takes place on the first Sunday after the feast of St. Gotthard, which falls on May 4.

Celebrating Epiphany: The Fstival of the Epiphany, the Befana (a kindly old woman who brings gifts) is celebrated in various places of the city. During the event a bag of gifts will be distributed to children.

December 6, the festival of St. Nicholas: On December 6, on Saint Nicholas Day, little gifts are given to children on the main square.
