Alpe Bolla is a mountain pasture at 1129 m.a.s.l. with an alpine cottage located in the lower valley of Colla, just above the village called Cadro. Close to the alp, on a wooded hillside one can find the oratory of Saint Peter and Paul.
The pasture is located in the alpine region to the north of Lugano from which hikers can enjoy magnificent scenery and experience the welcoming hospitality of the local residents. Excursionists have the chance to try some local food or even stay overnight at the cottage. Once arrived at Alpe Bolla, one can enjoy a 360° view of the surrounding countryside including the lake of Lugano. For those who prefer to go up Alpe Bolla by mountainbike, the easiest starting point is Monte Bré and it will take about 2 to 3 hours. The best time to enjoy these hiking trails is in summer, from April to November.
